NeighborWorks of Western Vermont is a housing organization that is closely working with state groups and the Vermont Clean Energy Development Fund.
The association aims to help residents replace their wooden stoves with new pellet stoves. By so doing, they are promoting energy efficiency. NeighborWorks will be offering homeowners up to $4,800 for the replacements.
The new pellet stoves are already compliant with the standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency which will be rolled out in 2020.
The installation of these new stoves has received funding from various organizations and NeighborWorks has received a total of $715,000 in funds. Homeowners who have stove created in 1998 or earlier will likely qualify for the initiative.
